Prerequisites:
Experienced skydivers - what does that actually mean to us?
200+ jumps, have conducted a canopy course or have extensive canopy training and have an aptitude to do BASE.
Tracking proficiency - the ability to track is essential in the sport of BASE jumping as it enables us to fly our soft and squishy bodies away from the hard and unforgiving rock from which we leap. Jumping your own tracking suit from an aircraft is an excellent way to accelerate your progression into big wall jumping, and any short-cuts taken here will add years to reach a proficient level in BASE terminal performance.
Packing - every student must be competent in packing a skydiving rig, and we will supply a BASE packing video that should be watched and practised before attending the course. The number of jumps and progress that can be made on the FJC is directly related to packing speed, and proficiency in this will ensure time is not wasted on the course.

Preferable:
Paragliding/speed flying
CRW
PPL/Flying of any type
The rules about starting BASE jumping are both simple and complex at the same time - for there are no rules! As BASE is a self-regulated sport (not UN-regulated!), over time the community has established a series of guidelines that have proven themselves to be effective at reducing the injuries and fatalities associated with low-time jumpers.
These guidelines are what we base our requirements on to join the FJC, there are certainly operators that will accept you with fewer skydives and preparation - but be aware that this approach places you at significantly higher risk both on the course and in your formative years as a BASE jumper.
